Painting in Graniti, Sicily for Graniti Murales - Fall 2017.

I am excited to share with you my recent successful project in Italy!
As a proud member of "13 Feet off the Ground" - our newly formed collective of 13
Vancouver female artists - I travelled to Graniti, Sicily in October to literally "paint the town".
We were royally hosted by the Art Residency program and the people of Graniti.
I call Graniti "the little town with the big heart".
Immersing ourselves in Sicilian rural life for a whole month was truly a heartfelt experience
that each of us will cherish for the rest of our lives.
To quote one of my colleagues, Carol:
"I loved being there as a part of 13 Feet. We all seemed to be operating with the same level of dedication, professionalism and support for one another. It was intense, but we all had a lot of fun, learned from each other and built relationships we’ll carry with us forever."

Our very first local mural after our residency in Sicily...
We are honoured to be invited to paint a mural for the Ambleside Dundarave Building Improvement Association in West Vancouver this summer. We will be working on the project daily in the week(s) before the opening of the Harmony Arts Festival. The mural site is at 14th and Marine Drive. Please drop by to say hi and see our work in progress and join us for the Harmony Arts Art Beat street party on August 4th!

Artist's Talk and Presentation...
We are also doing an "Artist's Talk and Presentation" at the Ferry Building Gallery as part of the
"Art Speaks" program at the Harmony Arts Festival. We will share our stories of our recent art residency adventure in Sicily and talk briefly about our just finished mural project at the corner of  14th Street and Marine Drive in West Vancouver. Attendees will have a chance to accompany us to view the mural after the presentation. Join us for this fun and exciting event on Sunday August 5th, 3-5pm.
